For all your Boat Needs
Descaling the engine
If you require to descale your engine or heat exchanger, we have the perfoect product for you. D.K.L 4 descales your engine and removes scale deposits which in the long run will lower the water flow in your engine. For in-board engines, dilute 3 to 5 litres of D.K.L.4. For outboard engines, dilute 2 litres.
1st stage : descaling
Dilute 3% of D.K.L.4 in soft water (i.e. 3 litres for 100 litres of water). The solution is red color. Turn on the engine and run for 15 to 30 minutes maximum supervising Temperature of the engine. As the solution will start to remove the scale and limestone, its color will change from red to yellow. Do not drain the circuit as yet.
2nd Stage : Control
Start again the operation with a new solution by using the rest of product. Turn on the engine for a few minutes. If the solution remains red, it means that descaling is finished. If not, operatethe engine with the solution in the circuit for 15 to 30 minutes. Drain and rinse the circuit.
In the same way, it is possible to carry out the descaling of an outboard engine. For the descaling of the parts, dilute 1 litre of product in 5 litres of water. Immerse the parts which are higly scaled in the solution of D.K.L.4. The reaction time will be more or less (a few hours) according to the state of clogging of the parts. Two minutes of rinsing
Rinse the engine
NO SEL is a "Salt Killer". It removes salt deposits and leaves a protective film in your engine as it contains corrosion inhibitors which protect against rust and corrosion. It makes it possible to prevent the formation of aluminium chloride during the storage.
For inboard engine :
First of all, dilute NO SEL with 5 litres of water. Close the water valve to the pass-hull. Then, disconnect the pipe from hydrant, put it in a bucket and start the engine.
For outboard engine :
First of all, rinse the engine with soft water. Then, pour the solution (1 litre of NO SEL + 5 litres of water) and run the engine. When finished, in both cases, rinse for two minutes with soft water.
